SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 24,2025:
In a significant step towards enhancing the beauty and infrastructure around the iconic Dal Lake, the Jammu and Kashmir Lake Conservation and Management Authority (JKLCMA) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development (NaBFID).
Under this MoU, NaBFID will extend technical consultancy services to support a series of development projects for Dal Lake, including the installation of a Ferris Wheel, High Jet Fountain, and Musical Fountain within the lake area. The agreement also covers the development of a Theme and Amusement Park at Shalimar, Srinagar, along with other projects envisioned by the Jammu and Kashmir Government to promote tourism and enhance the city’s recreational landscape.
Officials stated that this collaboration marks a major milestone in the government’s efforts to revitalize Dal Lake and transform Srinagar into a leading tourism and cultural hub. The partnership with NaBFID is expected to ensure professional expertise, financial structuring, and innovative planning for the long-term conservation and sustainable development of the lake.
The initiative aligns with the J&K Government’s vision of blending environmental conservation with tourism development, thereby improving the eco-tourism potential and ensuring a better experience for visitors and residents alike.
