CS Atal Dulloo targets 2 lakh internship registrations in J&K

Srinagar, April 16,2026- Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the progress of the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme in Jammu and Kashmir, setting an ambitious target of 2 lakh registrations across the Union Territory.

During the meeting, officials discussed strategies to enhance outreach, streamline the registration process, and ensure maximum participation of youth from both urban and rural areas. The Chief Secretary stressed the importance of coordinated efforts among departments to achieve the set target within the stipulated timeframe.

Atal Dulloo emphasized that the internship scheme aims to equip young individuals with practical skills, industry exposure, and employment readiness, aligning with the broader goal of youth empowerment and skill development in the region.

He directed concerned departments to intensify awareness campaigns through educational institutions, digital platforms, and grassroots-level engagement to encourage more registrations. Special focus was also laid on ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for students from remote areas.

Officials highlighted that the initiative is expected to bridge the gap between education and employment, providing meaningful opportunities to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.

The review concluded with a call for time-bound implementation and regular monitoring to ensure the successful rollout of the scheme across the Union Territory.
