CS Atal Dulloo chairs 15th SASB HLC on Yatra preparedness

Jammu, January 29,2026-The Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday reviewed the preparedness for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra during the 15th High-Level Committee (HLC) meeting of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), officials said.

The meeting focused on assessing arrangements related to infrastructure, security, healthcare, logistics, power and water supply, and overall coordination among departments to ensure a safe and smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage.

Chief Secretary emphasized the need for inter-departmental coordination, timely completion of works, and strict adherence to safety protocols along both the Baltal and Pahalgam Yatra routes. He directed concerned departments to ensure that all facilities for pilgrims are put in place well ahead of the Yatra.

Officials briefed the meeting on progress achieved so far, including track maintenance, shelter facilities, medical preparedness, disaster response mechanisms, and communication networks. Special emphasis was laid on crowd management, emergency response readiness, and weather-related contingency planning.

The Chief Secretary also reviewed arrangements for registration, accommodation, sanitation, and transport, stressing that pilgrim convenience and safety must remain the top priority. He called for continuous monitoring and real-time coordination during the Yatra period.

The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra is one of the most significant annual pilgrimages in the country, drawing lakhs of devotees from across India. The administration reiterated its commitment to ensuring a secure, well-managed, and pilgrim-friendly Yatra.
