Kashmir, January 10,2026 – Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir today reviewed the progress of major health infrastructure projects being executed across the Union Territory, with a focus on timely completion, quality standards, and improved healthcare delivery.
During the review meeting, the Chief Secretary assessed the status of new medical colleges, district hospitals, trauma centres, and upgradation of existing health facilities. He stressed the need for inter-departmental coordination, efficient fund utilisation, and strict adherence to project timelines to ensure that modern healthcare services reach people in all regions, including remote and border areas.
Officials from the Health and Medical Education Department, Public Works Department, and executing agencies briefed the meeting on physical and financial progress, highlighting challenges related to land acquisition, manpower, and logistics.
The Chief Secretary directed concerned departments to expedite works, address bottlenecks promptly, and ensure that healthcare infrastructure projects are completed in a time-bound manner to strengthen the public health system in Jammu and Kashmir.
