Jammu,Febrary 5,2026- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday said the artificial intelligence (AI) era calls for a fundamental shift in the education system from rote learning to creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving, asserting that classrooms must prepare students for an uncertain and rapidly evolving future.
Addressing an education-focused event, the Lieutenant Governor said that while technology is transforming every sector, the role of teachers remains central in nurturing innovative, adaptable, and ethically grounded learners.
“The future belongs to those who can think creatively, question intelligently, and adapt continuously. Education must go beyond memorisation and equip students with skills relevant to the AI-driven world,” LG Manoj Sinha said.
He stressed that the education system should focus on experiential learning, innovation, and interdisciplinary approaches, enabling students to apply knowledge to real-world challenges. The LG also highlighted the importance of values-based education, emotional intelligence, and lifelong learning in shaping responsible citizens.
The Lieutenant Governor called upon educators to embrace new pedagogical methods and integrate technology as an enabler rather than a replacement for teachers. He added that educational institutions must foster an environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and collaboration.
The address concluded with the LG reiterating the government’s commitment to strengthening education infrastructure and promoting reforms aligned with the needs of the 21st-century workforce.
