Construction of bus stand in Rajouri District promises hope and opportunities to locals

Social Activist Rashid Khan of Rajouri district in Jammu & Kashmir says the bus stand being constructed in Rajouri is one good step taken by the district administration for the dwellers here. A local resident Vikrant Sharma added, the new bus stand will facilitate people. Moreover, people used to feel uneasy because of the road jam, now the roads will be clear. Another local resident Shahnawaz Malik says, the bus stand will resolve the problem of traffic jams. Earlier, vehicles used to stop anywhere on the roads now they will stop at the designated bus stand. Activist Rashid says, earlier the mini buses had no such earmarked place from where to lift passengers and offload them.

Mohammed Arif from Municipal Corporation said, we noticed that traders coming in Rajouri faced the jamming issue. We submitted a Detailed Project Report (DPR) to the government. Our DPR of Rs 5 crore was sanctioned. Today, the development work of the construction of a bus stand is taking place in full swing.

Locals are happy that the development of a bus stand would mean progress and employment for the youth. In addition, shops will come up around bus stand and that would mean more employment opportunities for the people of Rajouri.
