Commerce College organises awareness program on road safety and traffic rules

Jammu, December 19: Government SPMR College of Commerce, under the guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Rajinder Singh, organised an awareness program on road safety and traffic rules. The event aimed to educate students about traffic norms and the importance of safe driving practices, with a focus on reducing accidents caused by reckless driving and non-compliance with speed limits.

The program featured engaging presentations by PG students (pursuing M.Com), who highlighted the significance of adhering to traffic rules through a thought-provoking PowerPoint presentation. The discussions emphasised how following traffic guidelines can save lives and prevent accidents, particularly among the youth.

Dr. Vipul Chalotra, Convener of the Road Safety Club, delivered a detailed presentation on the importance of abiding by traffic regulations. He demonstrated various traffic rules and their real-life implications. Dr. Rouf Ahmed Bhat shared practical examples and personal experiences, emphasising key considerations for safe driving. Dr. Purnima Bakshi and Dr. Asha Rani also addressed the gathering, underlining critical themes of road safety that every driver should understand and follow.

Students Ajmeet Kour, Nikhil Singh, Muwahid Khan, and Devika Sharma shared their personal experiences and insights, highlighting the benefits of practicing safe driving habits and adhering to traffic rules. The program concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Dr. Asha Rani, leaving the audience with a renewed sense of responsibility and awareness towards road safety.
