Kashmir,November 11,2025-Chief Minister Omar Abdullah emphasised the importance of strengthening higher education, research, and skill development to transform Jammu and Kashmir into a knowledge-driven region. Speaking at a recent education and innovation summit, he underlined that investing in human capital is key to economic growth, social development, and sustainable progress.
The Chief Minister highlighted initiatives aimed at improving the quality of universities, technical institutes, and research centres across the Union Territory. He stressed the need for collaboration between academia and industry to ensure that students gain practical skills that match market demands.
“Our focus is on empowering youth with the knowledge, skills, and innovative mindset needed to drive J&K’s growth and contribute to the nation’s development,” CM Omar said. He urged institutions to prioritize research, entrepreneurship, and vocational training, enabling students to become future-ready and globally competitive.
Officials and educationists present at the event appreciated the administration’s efforts to modernise higher education infrastructure and provide opportunities for skill development, research grants, and digital learning initiatives.
The Chief Minister also called for increased investment in scientific research and innovation, highlighting it as a pillar for socio-economic transformation and positioning J&K as a hub of knowledge and talent.
