Kulgam, October 17,2025: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah took a big step forward for Kulgam by e-inaugurating some of the crucial urban infrastructure projects today. It is a huge step in a bid to improve civic facilities and increase commercial infrastructure of the district.
Among the recently opened facilities are the Solid Waste Management and Material Recovery Facility (SWM & MRF) at Lirrow, a Municipal Shopping Complex, and a Modern Abattoir. The project was aimed at enhancing urban services, fostering cleaner environments, and stimulating the local economy.
On the occasion, CM Omar Abdullah reiterated that these projects mark the Government’s commitment towards sustainable urbanisation, proper waste management, and improved service delivery to the masses. He also praised the district administration for their hectic efforts in bringing to life these projects, which will have a direct impact on traders and residents of Kulgam.
