Kashmir, December 14,2025-Honourable Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, on Sunday inaugurated and dedicated a series of key development projects in Gulmarg, reinforcing the government’s focus on strengthening tourism infrastructure and enhancing visitor experience in the iconic hill resort.
The projects, conceived to upgrade civic and tourism-related facilities, aim to modernise Gulmarg’s infrastructure, improve accessibility, and support sustainable tourism practices. The initiatives are expected to benefit tourists, local businesses, and residents alike, while creating new employment opportunities in the region.
During the inauguration, the Chief Minister emphasised that Gulmarg holds a central place in Jammu and Kashmir’s tourism landscape and continues to attract visitors from across India and abroad. He stated that strategic investments in infrastructure are essential to preserve the destination’s natural charm while meeting the growing demands of tourism.
Officials from the tourism department and local administration briefed the Chief Minister on the scope and impact of the projects, highlighting their role in improving public amenities and strengthening the region’s tourism economy.
With these projects now operational, Gulmarg is set to witness enhanced facilities and renewed momentum, further consolidating its status as one of the most prominent tourist destinations in Jammu and Kashmir.
