JAMMU, JULY 29: In a major step towards strengthening environmental governance and boosting employment, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Forest Minister Javed Rana today handed over appointment letters to newly appointed employees in the Forest Department at a special ceremony held in Jammu.
Addressing the gathering, CM Omar Abdullah congratulated the appointees and emphasised the critical role of the Forest Department in preserving Jammu & Kashmir’s ecological wealth, combating climate change, and promoting sustainable development. He urged the new recruits to serve with integrity and dedication, especially at a time when forest conservation is a top priority globally.
Forest Minister Javed Rana highlighted various reforms and recruitment drives undertaken by the department to enhance manpower efficiency, ensure better wildlife protection, and advance green cover expansion in the Union Territory.
The event was attended by senior officials, forest officers, and the families of the appointees, reflecting the administration’s commitment to transparent recruitment and youth empowerment.
