Jammu, May 8,2026-Cluster University of Jammu has announced the introduction of the “Design Your Degree” programme from the academic session 2026-27 at Government College for Women Gandhi Nagar.
The initiative, launched under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, aims to provide students with greater flexibility in shaping their academic and professional journeys. Under the programme, students will be able to choose multidisciplinary subjects, skill-oriented pathways, internships, and research components based on their interests and career goals.
University officials said the programme has been designed to align higher education with modern industry requirements and emerging career trends. It focuses on experiential learning, innovation, and enhancing employability by allowing students to combine courses from different disciplines.
The administration stated that the “Design Your Degree” model reflects the vision of NEP 2020 by promoting flexibility, creativity, critical thinking, and holistic development in higher education institutions.
Academicians have welcomed the move, saying it will help students gain broader exposure and practical experience while enabling them to tailor their education according to future aspirations.
The programme is expected to benefit students seeking interdisciplinary learning opportunities and career-focused education in Jammu and Kashmir.
