Kashmir, June 17,2026-A month-long environmental initiative, Mission Clean Peer Panchal, has officially begun in the upper reaches of the Peer Panchal mountain range, marking a significant step toward preserving the region’s natural beauty and ecological balance.
As part of the mission, a 15-member trekking team has embarked on an extensive cleanliness drive aimed at removing waste from trekking routes, alpine lakes, meadows, and popular tourist destinations across the Peer Panchal region. The campaign seeks to promote responsible tourism while raising awareness about environmental conservation in the fragile Himalayan ecosystem.
The volunteers will cover several remote locations during the month-long expedition, collecting litter, educating visitors about sustainable practices, and encouraging local communities and tourists to actively participate in keeping the mountains clean.
Organizers said the initiative is designed not only to restore the pristine beauty of the region but also to highlight the growing need for environmental responsibility in high-altitude tourist destinations. The mission is expected to inspire trekkers, nature enthusiasts, and local stakeholders to adopt eco-friendly habits and contribute to long-term conservation efforts.
Mission Clean Peer Panchal reflects a collective commitment to protecting Jammu and Kashmir’s rich natural heritage and ensuring that future generations can continue to enjoy the breathtaking landscapes of the Himalayan region.
