Civil Services Day 2025: LG Manoj Sinha hails civil servants, spotlights MDP under RAMP

Srinagar, April 21, 2025 – On Civil Services Day, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha extended warm greetings to civil servants, praising their unifying role in advancing national goals and development objectives through strategic planning, innovative policy initiatives, and effective implementation. In a special address, LG Sinha highlighted the success of the Management Development Programme (MDP) under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance initiative, which included an Industrial Exposure Visit to the Industrial Estate, Baramulla.

“Your dedication to public service and your efforts in fostering economic growth through initiatives like the MDP under RAMP are truly commendable,” LG Sinha said. “Civil servants are pivotal in driving the vision of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047, ensuring sustainable policies and inclusive development.”

As part of the MDP under RAMP, participants were taken on an Industrial Exposure Visit to the Industrial Estate, Baramulla, where they explored various manufacturing units specializing in Steel Furniture, Wooden Furniture, Wood Carving, Readymade Garments, POP (Plaster of Paris) Manufacturing, and other related industries. The visit aimed to provide hands-on exposure to MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) operations, showcasing the region’s potential in fostering entrepreneurship and industrial growth. Trainees interacted with unit owners, gaining insights into production processes, market challenges, and opportunities for innovation in these sectors.

The RAMP initiative, supported by the Government of India, focuses on strengthening the MSME ecosystem by enhancing competitiveness, promoting innovation, and facilitating access to markets and finance. The Industrial Estate, Baramulla, a hub for diverse manufacturing activities, served as an ideal location for the exposure visit, highlighting the role of civil servants in supporting local industries and aligning them with national development priorities.

LG Sinha emphasized the importance of such programs in equipping civil servants with practical knowledge to drive economic development. “The MDP under RAMP is a testament to your commitment to empowering MSMEs, which are the backbone of our economy. By facilitating initiatives like the Industrial Exposure Visit, you are paving the way for sustainable growth and job creation in Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.

This year’s Civil Services Day theme, “Innovation in Governance,” resonated with the objectives of the MDP, which seeks to foster adaptive governance and innovative solutions for industrial advancement. The Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) was recognized for its efforts in implementing sustainable policies that support MSMEs and promote regional development.

State-wide events, including workshops and training sessions, were organized to further enhance the skills of civil servants. LG Sinha concluded, “I wish you continued success in your endeavors to serve the people and transform Jammu and Kashmir into a hub of industrial and economic prosperity.”
