Speaking at the UT Level Kala Utsav 2022 organised by the Directorate of Samagara Shiksha, Jammu & Kashmir, Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary, School Education Department in Jammu & Kashmir said, the talent present in our students should be explored, nourished and nurtured so that the children are able to express their artistic talent fully. This is one channel of education. That is why in National Education Policy (NEP), art and culture has been presented as a very important tool. A girl winning first prize at the Kala Utsav programme in the UT said that she was very happy to participate and see others performing. She said it is a wonderful platform. Another performer said that because of the Kala Utsav, her talent emerged. She was not aware that she would perform the folk dance so well that she would be selected at the UT Level. The audience saw talented children from the whole of Jammu & Kashmir who got selected in various fields performing on stage and who will go on to the national level competition. People thanked the Department of School Education for creating an opportunity to spread knowledge about the Dogri art to all.
