Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo awards medals at Anant Khel 2025, Central University Jammu

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 13: The much-anticipated annual sports meet, Anant Khel 2025, at Central University of Jammu concluded with great enthusiasm on January 29, 2025, after three days of spirited competition. Over 600 students, along with 100 faculty and staff members, participated across 19 exciting sports events held on the university’s campus in Bagla Suchani.

The grand finale of the sports extravaganza, the medal ceremony, was graced by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, who attended as the chief guest. In his address, Chief Secretary Dulloo praised the growing stature of Central University of Jammu as a center of excellence and emphasised the vital role sports play in shaping the character and spirit of students. He highlighted that the true essence of sportsmanship contributes to the greatness of any nation.

The ceremony also saw the presence of Deputy Commissioner Samba, Rajesh Sharma, who served as the guest of honour.

Vice Chancellor, Professor Sanjeev Jain, shared his vision of making students at CUJ not only physically fit but also morally upright, fostering individuals who will be great assets to the nation. He encouraged the students to embody the true spirit of sportsmanship in all aspects of their lives.

Professor Vandana Sharma, Director of the Department of Physical Education , in her welcome address, celebrated the essence of Anant Khel at CUJ, where every participant showcased team spirit, mutual respect, ethical conduct, and humility in the truest sense.

Professor Yashwant Singh, Registrar of CUJ, highlighted the numerous achievements and progress of the university, which have contributed to its growing reputation.

The highlight of the medal distribution saw Chief Secretary Dulloo awarding 51 gold medals, 50 silver medals, and 30 bronze medals to students and staff across various individual and team events, including Cricket, Football, Badminton, Volleyball, Kho-Kho, Kabbadi, Javelin, Discus Throw, Shot Put, Long Jump, High Jump, Aesthetics, Table Tennis, Carrom, Chess, and Marathon. A total of over 400 recipients were recognised for their outstanding performances.

A standout feature of Anant Khel 2025 was the introduction of the Vice Chancellor’s Trophy, awarded to the School of Education for its exceptional overall performance during the sports meet. This new addition to the event highlighted the university’s commitment to fostering a spirit of healthy competition and excellence among its various schools of study.
