AMMU, AUGUST 22: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today inspired young minds at a TEDx event held at JK Public School Kunjwani, Jammu, urging students to push the boundaries, test their limits, and embrace the spirit of innovation under the theme “Beyond Boundaries”.
Addressing a packed hall of students, eminent speakers, and school administrators, the Chief Minister highlighted that boundaries exist in geography, politics, laws, and social structures — sometimes necessary, yet often restrictive. He pointed out that many limitations are self-imposed, shaped by stereotypes or past experiences. “These limits may be real or imagined, but every great exploration and advancement of civilisation has come from crossing boundaries,” he remarked.
Encouraging students to set lofty goals, Omar Abdullah said, “Unless you test your limits, you cannot carve a unique identity for yourself. Speak up, ask questions, and never let hesitation silence you. Gender, background, or appearance should never stand in the way of achievement.”
At the same time, he reminded the youth of their responsibility to distinguish between imaginary restrictions and legal frameworks. “Go beyond boundaries, but do so lawfully. Goals must never be pursued by breaching the law,” he cautioned.
The Chief Minister further advised students to remain ambitious and resilient. “Set many goals and spend your life striving to achieve them. The pursuit itself is worthwhile, no matter what the outcome,” he said.
The event also featured other distinguished speakers, including noted educationist Prof. Amitabh Mattoo and Usha Mani, who shared thought-provoking ideas and insights with the young audience.
The TEDx event at JK Public School Kunjwani proved to be a platform of inspiration, encouraging students to think beyond limits, challenge stereotypes, and shape a brighter future for themselves and society.
