Chief Minister Omar Abdullah attends I-League match at TRC Ground, cheers for Kashmiri football talent

Srinagar, April 6, 2025 – Chief Minister Omar Abdullah attended an I-League football match on Sunday at the TRC Ground in Srinagar, where Real Kashmir Football Club (RKFC) faced off against Churchill Brothers Goa. Joined by his Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, Commissioner Secretary Youth Services & Sports, Secretary J&K Sports Council, and other senior officials, Abdullah mingled with a spirited large local crowd that filled the stands with energy. The match, a nail-biting contest, concluded with a 1-1 draw.

In a show of solidarity, the Chief Minister wore a Real Kashmir FC jersey, reflecting his support for the team and its burgeoning fan base. He praised Real Kashmir FC for carving out opportunities for Kashmiri youth to shine in top-tier national football leagues. “This team is a beacon of hope, giving our young players a platform to compete at the highest level,” Abdullah said. He also took time to interact with players and officials from both sides, applauding their performance and sportsmanship.
