A cab driver Bashrat from Trichul, Pulwama in Jammu & Kashmir cracked Class IV SSB (Sashastra Seema Bal) exams under the PM Rozgar scheme. Earlier, he used to earn Rs 8000 in the whole month as a cab driver which was not enough to run his household and he had to take up labour work from time to time to foot his bills. He had appeared for a number of interviews in which he had qualified in some, but in the end, relatives of those in power were hired as he had no extra money to pay bribes. Now, with the Modi Government in power and LG government managing the state, corruption is fading away, says Bashrat. With his hard work and merit he was able to land a government job. It is for the first time that the post he applied for has been advertised in so many years. He said he had to pay only Rs 350 for the SSB form and he has got a government job. Bashrat’s father, a poor man ,is relieved that after 25 years honesty is ruling out corruption. Bashrat’s wife is happy too that they do not have to offer bribes anymore and merit is being recognised in Jammu & Kashmir.
