From Kashmir to Kanyakumari, in every corner of India, in every section of society, in every field, General Zorawar Singh Ji is considered a remarkable warrior who has left an indelible mark on the national consciousness through his efficient strategy and victories. It was said about Zorawar Singh Ji, the great son of Mother India and the Commander of Maharaja Gulab Singh Ji, that his discipline was stronger than iron. He not only expanded the empire of Maharaj Gulab Singh by conquering areas like Baltistan, Ladakh, Gilgit and Skardu but also set a new example in the field, by defeating many great powers. On the martyrdom day of General Zorawar Singh, let us bring change in lives and guide and support the youth. And let us all pledge to dedicate ourselves to a more just and peaceful society. In 1841, General Zorawar Singh marched towards Tibet with an army of five thousand and conquered several areas of Tibet one after the other. There have been many brave warriors in this country, we are proud of this fact that among all those brave warriors, General Zorawar Singh’s personality was very heart-warming. The courage of General Zorawar Singh, his bravery, his foresight are the priceless values of the ideals of this soil. By risking his life, he showed the country a new path. Today, I feel that there is a need for us to contribute towards building the India of General Zorawar’s dreams. Today, our aim should be to make India powerful and prosperous and to establish ourselves as true successors to the ideals of General Zorawar Singh ji, said the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha motivating the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
