Budgam , March 3,2026- Deputy Commissioner Athar Aamir Khan reviewed the comprehensive Youth Engagement & Empowerment Plan aimed at transforming Budgam into a model youth-driven district.
During the meeting, the DC launched the vision of “One Sport for One Child”, an ambitious initiative designed to ensure that every student in the district actively participates in at least one sport. As part of the programme, a Sports Card will be issued to every student to systematically track participation, performance, and emerging talent.
Officials informed that the Sports Card system will help identify promising athletes at an early stage and provide them with structured support, coaching, and opportunities to excel at higher levels. The initiative also aims to promote physical fitness, discipline, and teamwork among youth.
Athar Aamir Khan emphasized that sports and skill development are key pillars for channelizing the energy of young people in a positive direction. He stressed that empowering youth through structured engagement programmes will not only enhance personal growth but also contribute to the overall development of Budgam district.
The Youth Engagement & Empowerment Plan includes a strong focus on sports infrastructure, skill-building workshops, career counseling, and community participation to ensure inclusive growth.
The district administration reiterated its commitment to nurturing talent and creating an enabling ecosystem where every child in Budgam gets the opportunity to discover and develop their potential.
