Budgam, December 4,2025: The International Day of Persons with Disabilities was celebrated with zeal and commitment in Budgam, highlighting the administration’s focus on inclusive development and welfare of Divyangjans. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Bilal Bhat presided over the event, which saw the distribution of 163 Niramaya Health Cards, ₹1.63 crore in cheques, and awards & certificates to beneficiaries.
The celebrations also featured cultural performances, showcasing talent and creativity of persons with disabilities, emphasising their abilities and achievements. The event was a platform to reaffirm the administration’s dedication to empowering Divyangjans through health, financial support, and recognition of excellence.
In addition, it was announced that 234 assistive devices will be distributed to persons with disabilities starting from December 4, 2025, further strengthening the support ecosystem in the district.
DC Dr. Bilal Bhat urged all stakeholders, including government departments and social organizations, to continue working with sensitivity, awareness, and commitment to ensure dignity, accessibility, and meaningful participation of Divyangjans in all spheres of life.
