Kupwara, December 29,2025 — Border Security Force Kashmir on Tuesday organised a ‘Drug Free India’ awareness rally in Handwara town of Kupwara district, aimed at sensitising the public, especially youth, about the harmful effects of drug abuse.
The rally witnessed active participation from local school students and BSF personnel, who marched through key areas of Handwara carrying placards and banners conveying strong messages against substance abuse. The initiative sought to encourage young minds to stay away from drugs and adopt a healthy, disciplined lifestyle.
Addressing participants, BSF officials highlighted the growing menace of drug abuse and stressed the importance of community participation, awareness, and early intervention to safeguard society. Students were urged to act as ambassadors of change by spreading the message within their families and neighbourhoods.
The event concluded with all participants taking a pledge for a drug-free society, reaffirming their commitment to fight drug abuse and promote social well-being.
Such awareness programmes form part of BSF Kashmir’s continued efforts to support the national ‘Drug Free India’ campaign and strengthen cooperation with local communities in Jammu and Kashmir.
