Bridging the gap: DC Kulgam boosts CSC reach for public services

Kulgam, March 5, 2025-Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan, chaired a meeting to assess the functioning of Common Service Centres and ensure seamless delivery of public services across the district. The session, held at the Mini-Secretariat, focused on strengthening CSC operations to better serve the local population.

The District Manager CSCs reported that of the 528 sanctioned CSCs, 378 are active, covering every Gram Panchayat, with 13 additional touch points in government offices. DC Khan directed the CSC Coordinator to expand services to remote areas and activate all touch points promptly, while phasing out long-dormant centres. He stressed resuming full operations to support registrations for schemes like PM-KISAN, PMAY-G, PMSYM, PMJDY, and Ayushman Bharat, alongside issuing domicile certificates.

Warning against overcharging or delays, Khan instructed officers to allocate space for touch points within days. Tehsildars and Block Development Officers (BDOs) were tasked with monitoring CSC performance to ensure quality service delivery. The meeting saw participation from the ADDC, ACD, ACR, all Tehsildars, BDOs, ARTO, District Manager CSC, and Village Level Entrepreneurs, reflecting a collaborative push to enhance public access to essential services.
