February 27, 2025 , Beerwah —Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chaudhary kicked off construction on the Chewdara Beerwah Bridge, a Rs. 14.15 crore venture under NABARD’s wing. This isn’t just a bridge; it’s a game-changer for connectivity, set to serve a hefty slice of commuters and locals alike in Budgam’s bustling plains. The groundbreaking drew a crowd—MLAs Ali Mohammad Dar from Chadoora, Dr. Shafi Ahmad Wani from Beerwah, and Saifud Din Bhat from Khanshaib, plus the DC Budgam, Chief Engineer R&B, district officers, and some of Beerwah’s most prominent voices.
Surinder Chaudhary didn’t hold back, calling it a cornerstone of the government’s mission for holistic, sustained growth across Jammu and Kashmir. “We’re ushering in a new era of progress and prosperity,” he declared, pointing to development sprouting in every corner of the Union Territory. But it wasn’t all big-picture talk—he got practical, too, pressing the executing agencies to tackle any hurdles head-on. “Get it done on time,” he insisted, “no cost overruns, no delays—just deliver this vital project to the people.” He pushed for teamwork to clear any roadblocks, keeping the focus razor-sharp.
After the ceremony, the Dy CM headed to Town Hall, sitting down with several local delegations. There, he doubled down on the government’s pledge—fast-track development, top-notch public services, and quick fixes for grievances. The mood? Hopeful but expectant.
