Border villages in J&K witness unprecedented development: LG Manoj Sinha

Kashmir, May 13,2026-Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that border villages across the Union Territory are now being connected to the mainstream of development through improved infrastructure, better connectivity, welfare schemes and enhanced public services.

Addressing a public gathering, the Lieutenant Governor said that the government is committed to ensuring equal development in remote and border areas that were neglected for decades. He highlighted that road networks, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, electricity and drinking water supply have witnessed major improvements in border districts.

LG Sinha said that several initiatives have been launched to strengthen livelihoods, promote employment opportunities and empower youth living in border villages. He added that the administration is working with dedication to improve the quality of life for residents and ensure that the benefits of various government schemes reach every household.

He further stated that peace, stability and development are opening new opportunities for people residing near the border areas. The Lieutenant Governor also appreciated the resilience and contribution of border residents towards nation-building and maintaining harmony in the region.

The administration, he said, remains focused on accelerating development works and creating better opportunities for future generations in Jammu and Kashmir’s border regions.
