Huma Qureshi says Kashmir should have Its own film industry during valley visit

Kashmir , July 9,2026- “Kashmir should have its own film industry,” said Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi during her visit to the Valley for the premiere of Baby Do Die Do. She emphasized that Kashmir possesses immense natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and extraordinary local talent that can contribute to a thriving regional cinema.

Qureshi noted that a dedicated film industry in Kashmir would not only provide opportunities for local actors, writers, musicians, and technicians but also help showcase the region’s stories, traditions, and aspirations to audiences across the world. She added that nurturing local filmmaking can generate employment, encourage creativity among youth, and strengthen the cultural identity of the Valley.

“Kashmir has incredible stories to tell. It has talented artists, beautiful locations, and a unique culture. A strong local film industry can create opportunities for young people and bring Kashmiri narratives to the global stage,” she said while interacting with the media.

Her remarks were welcomed by many film enthusiasts and aspiring artists, who believe that greater investment in cinema infrastructure, training, and production can help establish Kashmir as a significant center for filmmaking in the country.
