Srinagar, November 18,2025: Bisma Qazi, a gold medalist in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Kashmir University, has emerged as a powerful symbol of determination and women empowerment in Jammu and Kashmir. Despite years marked by curfews, shutdowns, and uncertainties, she pursued a dream many believed was nearly impossible.
In 2017, Bisma scripted history by clearing the UPSC Civil Services Examination with an impressive AIR 115, becoming the first woman IPS officer from Kashmir in the AGMUT cadre. Her achievement not only broke barriers but also inspired countless young women across the region.
Bisma’s academic excellence, combined with years of perseverance, positioned her as one of the most promising young officers from J&K. Her journey continues to be celebrated as a testament to resilience and the power of education.
