Big job boost: 365 police posts in Ladakh

Kashmir, March 14,2026-In a major development offering hope to unemployed youth, the administration of Ladakh has announced a large recruitment drive across several departments. The announcement was made during a press conference by Chief Secretary Ashish Kundra and Director General of Police Mukesh Singh.

Addressing the media, the officials revealed that 365 vacancies in the Police Department, including posts of Sub-Inspectors, will soon be filled. The recruitment drive aims to strengthen the police force while creating employment opportunities for local youth.

Officials further informed that vacancies in several other government departments across Ladakh will also be announced shortly. Recruitment for high-level positions through the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will also be notified in the coming days.

The announcement comes soon after the new Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta assumed office in the Union Territory. The administration stated that the recruitment process will open new employment avenues and strengthen governance in the region.

The move has been widely welcomed by residents, particularly unemployed youth, who see the upcoming recruitment drive as a significant opportunity for stable government employment in Ladakh.
