BARAMULLA, JULY 29: In a vibrant celebration of Kashmir’s cultural heritage, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today attended ‘Kashur Riwaaj 2025’ at Baramulla, a joint initiative of the Indian Army and District Administration Baramulla. The event witnessed a world record-breaking participation of 20,000 youth who united in the revival of traditional Kashmiri arts—Ladishah and calligraphy.
Speaking at the event, LG Sinha congratulated the youth of Baramulla for their extraordinary achievement and hailed the efforts of the organisers. “I salute the dedication and commitment of our Army. They are not only safeguarding the nation’s unity and integrity but also actively serving as a custodian of this region’s vibrant cultural heritage and consistently striving to fulfil the dreams and aspirations of our youth,” the LG said.
He further praised the youth of Baramulla as agents of positive change, stating that their collective efforts are reshaping the narrative of Jammu & Kashmir. “Through events like Kashur Riwaaj, our young generation is reconnecting with their roots and redefining the cultural landscape of the region,” he added.

The program also featured exhibitions on Kashmiri handicrafts, folk music, local cuisine, and traditional art forms, turning the occasion into a full-fledged celebration of Kashmir’s living traditions. The successful attempt at setting a world record was verified by observers and is expected to receive official recognition.
The event marked a milestone in youth engagement, cultural preservation, and civil-military collaboration in the Union Territory.
