Baramulla, June 15, 2025 – In a vibrant push toward inclusive development, Baramulla district launched a transformative 15-day Mega Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Campaign under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) today. The grand inaugural event, a spirited Awareness and Benefit Saturation Camp held at Dak Bungalow, set an inspiring tone for a district-wide outreach effort to empower tribal communities, including Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs), across eight identified villages.
Spearheaded by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Minga Sherpa, the campaign aims to bring 25 welfare schemes from 17 central ministries directly to tribal households, ensuring access to critical services like healthcare, education, housing, skill development, and social security. The launch event buzzed with activity, featuring awareness stalls, cultural performances, and on-the-spot delivery of essential documents such as Aadhaar cards, ration cards, caste certificates, and Ayushman health cards.
DC Sherpa, addressing the gathering, called for robust inter-departmental collaboration to achieve full saturation of benefits. “This campaign is about reaching the unreached, ensuring no tribal family is left behind,” she said, urging community participation. From June 15 to June 30, 2025, the district will host Benefit Saturation Camps in all eight tribal villages, complemented by engaging activities like Gram Sabhas, street plays, and youth-led awareness drives.
To resonate with local communities, IEC materials will be distributed in tribal and regional languages, fostering greater understanding of available schemes. The campaign also emphasizes transparency, with daily progress tracked through geo-tagged photographs and reports uploaded to a centralized dashboard managed by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. In a bid to motivate excellence, DC Sherpa announced awards for top-performing blocks, officials, and community leaders.
The DAJGUA IEC Campaign in Baramulla is a bold step toward socio-economic empowerment, promising to bridge gaps in access and opportunity for tribal communities. With active involvement from NGOs, youth, and local leaders, the initiative is poised to create lasting impact, bringing governance closer to the grassroots.
