Baramulla gears up for good governance week: Deputy Commissioner briefs media, finalises preparations

Baramulla, December 18: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, held a press briefing in his office to outline the district’s comprehensive preparations for the upcoming Good Governance Week (December 19–24). The initiative, themed ‘Prashashan Gaon Ki Ore’ , aims to strengthen governance at the grassroots by addressing public grievances and enhancing service delivery.

During the briefing, the DC emphasised the significance of the week-long initiative in bringing the administration closer to rural communities. Camps will be organized across all 26 blocks of the district, providing platforms for grievance redressal and access to various government services. Citizens are encouraged to participate actively in these camps to resolve their concerns and avail themselves of welfare schemes. Awareness campaigns will also be conducted to educate the public about government initiatives and services.

The DC assured that all grievances received through platforms such as JK-IGRAMS, JK Samadhan, and other public service channels will be addressed promptly and resolved within a time-bound framework during the week.

Earlier in the day, the DC chaired a preparatory meeting at Dak Bungalow Baramulla with district and sectoral officers to finalise the implementation strategy for Prashashan Gaon Ki Ore. The focus was on ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective governance throughout the initiative.

Addressing the attendees, DC Minga Sherpa reiterated the administration’s commitment to bridging the gap between government institutions and the public. He also urged media representatives to play a proactive role in raising awareness about these transformative initiatives, ensuring maximum public participation.

The administration expressed confidence that the initiative will create a meaningful impact by enhancing citizen engagement and improving governance at the grassroots level.
