Bandipora, December 04,2025: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, today inaugurated a dedicated Centre for Rehabilitation for Persons with Disabilities, marking a significant step towards strengthening support systems and inclusive services for Divyangjans in the district.
The centre aims to provide a wide range of facilities including physical rehabilitation, counselling, therapeutic support, assistive aids, and skill-development opportunities to help persons with disabilities lead more independent and empowered lives.
Speaking at the inauguration, the DC emphasised the administration’s commitment to ensuring equal access, dignity, and social inclusion for persons with disabilities. He highlighted the need for coordinated efforts between government departments, health institutions, and community organizations to make rehabilitation services more accessible and effective.
The DC also reiterated the district’s focus on implementing welfare schemes, expanding rehabilitation infrastructure, and raising awareness about the rights and entitlements of persons with disabilities. He urged families and community groups to actively use the centre’s services to support the holistic development of beneficiaries.
Officials, social welfare representatives, healthcare professionals, and members of various disability support organisations attended the event. The initiative is expected to significantly enhance disability support services across Bandipora, making it a model for inclusive governance in Jammu & Kashmir.
