Kashmir Ahead

Badri Raina hails J&K Ranji success

Kashmir, February 22,2026-Former Jammu & Kashmir captain Badri Raina has hailed the team’s remarkable run in the Ranji Trophy, describing it as a testament to resilience, raw talent, and unwavering belief.

Reflecting on the early days, Raina recalled how the side was built on youthful energy and limited resources but immense passion. “We started with raw talent and hunger to prove ourselves. What we see today is the result of years of groundwork and belief,” he said.

The former skipper expressed confidence that Kashmir’s cricketing ecosystem is steadily strengthening, with improved infrastructure, better exposure, and growing grassroots participation. He emphasized that consistent performances at the national level are inspiring a new generation of cricketers across the Valley.

J&K’s recent Ranji campaign has drawn national attention, underlining the region’s rise in domestic cricket. Raina noted that the momentum must now be sustained through structured coaching, strong domestic performances, and continued institutional support.

With young players stepping up and delivering match-winning performances, he believes the future of Kashmir cricket looks promising. “The belief is stronger now. Talent was always there — now the platform is bigger,” Raina added.
