Badamwari bloom marks spring surge

Srinagar, March 22,2026-The iconic Badamwari Garden has come alive with the onset of spring, as almond trees burst into full bloom, painting the historic garden in shades of white and pink. The annual bloom has once again turned the garden into a major attraction for locals and tourists alike.

Nestled at the foothills of Hari Parbat, Badamwari is witnessing a massive influx of visitors, with nearly 5,000 people thronging the garden daily. The vibrant blossoms, combined with pleasant weather, have created a festive atmosphere across the area.

Adding to the charm this year are the ongoing Eid al-Fitr celebrations, which have further boosted footfall. Families, tourists, and photography enthusiasts are making the most of the scenic beauty, capturing moments under the blooming almond trees.

Speaking on the surge in visitors, Director Floriculture Kashmir, Mathoora Masoom, said that the garden is witnessing an overwhelming response every day. “Around 5,000 visitors are coming daily to enjoy the almond bloom. The department has made necessary arrangements to ensure a pleasant experience for all,” she said.

The Floriculture Department has also enhanced facilities at the garden, including improved seating areas, pathways, and cleanliness measures to accommodate the growing number of visitors.

Badamwari Garden, known for marking the beginning of spring in the Valley, continues to remain a symbol of Kashmir’s rich natural beauty and cultural vibrancy. As the bloom reaches its peak, authorities expect visitor numbers to rise further in the coming days.
