Jammu, December 1, 2025 – In a major step towards heritage conservation and tourism development, Jammu & Kashmir Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo inaugurated the newly constructed Heritage Cafeteria and laid the foundation stone for a multi‑storey parking facility at the historic Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex.
The Heritage Cafeteria, developed under the supervision of Jammu Smart City Limited in collaboration with the Mubarak Mandi Heritage Society (MMHS), will offer visitors a blend of modern amenities and cultural experience, combining food, literature, and the legacy of Dogra architecture. The cafeteria is part of the ongoing heritage restoration and adaptive reuse projects at the complex.
Speaking at the inauguration, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo highlighted the importance of preserving Jammu’s cultural heritage while integrating modern infrastructure for tourism. “The Heritage Cafeteria and upcoming parking facility will not only enhance visitor experience but also support ongoing tourism and cultural initiatives at Mubarak Mandi,” he said.
The foundation stone for the ramp-based, multi-storey parking facility was also laid during the ceremony. Designed in harmony with the heritage architecture of the complex, the parking will accommodate approximately 200 cars and 50 two-wheelers, easing congestion for tourists and visitors.
The developments are part of a broader ₹144 crore heritage revival plan for Mubarak Mandi, which includes the restoration of palaces, museums, courtyards, and other historical structures. Officials emphasized that these projects aim to transform Mubarak Mandi into a modern cultural hub, combining heritage preservation, tourism infrastructure, and visitor-friendly amenities.
Senior officials, including the Divisional Commissioner of Jammu, Principal Secretary of Culture, CEO of Jammu Smart City, and executives of MMHS, attended the inauguration ceremony, reaffirming the government’s commitment to cultural conservation and heritage tourism.
