Assam Diwas Celebration | J&K LG Extols Assam’s Rich Cultural Heritage & Scholarly Legacy Assam has been the land of scholars, said the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha on Assam Day. Assam is also the birthplace of warriors. Its spiritual history, the east wind of cultural aura and the beacon of knowledge is flowing in the nation. Folk arts of Assam are the basis of the developed society, its mirror, its philosophy and also its consciousness. Various genres of folk art have provided social potential to the Assamese society. And through them the sense of geographical unity has become stronger, LG said. Due to the inspiration of Mahapurush Shankar Dev’s educational energy, Assam has maintained a sense of social mutual love and brotherhood for centuries and the great sages like Madhav Dev, Damodar Dev and Hari Dev who passed on his footsteps have made a huge contribution in the making of India. I believe that today there is a new awareness in the ancient Sanskrit wealth of Assam which has given new strength to the feeling ofEk Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ LG said. And attraction has also arisen among the countrymen towards Assam. Assam Diwas and the functions of establishing the Diwas in other states are to commemorate the great personalities of various Sanskrit religions and to unite the great values of humanity present in the society and also to serve as a means of sharing our love with each other.
