Artificial intelligence should support, not replace traditional teaching : LG Manoj Sinha

Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha delivered an inspiring address at the 18th Annual Function of Mahavir International School on December 8 at the General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu. He congratulated the school for its achievements and emphasised the importance of a “Knowledge Revolution” to drive India’s development.He highlighted Jammu and Kashmir’s potential to become a hub of innovative education, stressing the need for schools to evolve into centres of excellence. He underscored the vital role of teachers in empowering students, stating that education should focus on understanding, moral values, and real-life applications, beyond just assessments. On technology, he noted the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) but stressed that it should support, not replace, traditional teaching. He also praised national educational reforms under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and honoured outstanding students and prominent personalities, including Padma Shri awardees, for their contributions to society. The event featured student performances on social issues and a pledge to “Stop Food Wastage,” reinforcing the importance of sustainability and social responsibility.
