Army Opens library near LoC, brings hope to border village children

Rajouri, March 22,2026- In a heartening initiative aimed at empowering young minds in border areas, the Indian Army has established a community library in Jhangar, located close to the Line of Control (LoC).

The newly opened library is envisioned as a dedicated learning hub for children in the remote village, offering them access to books, educational resources, and a safe space to explore their creativity. The initiative seeks to bridge educational gaps and provide students with opportunities that are often limited in border regions.

Local residents have welcomed the move, describing it as a significant step toward encouraging education and constructive engagement among youth. Children in the area, who previously had limited access to study material, are now able to read, learn, and develop new skills in a supportive environment.

Officials said the initiative is part of the Army’s continued efforts to promote community development and inspire young students living in challenging conditions near the LoC. The library is stocked with a variety of books, including academic material, storybooks, and general knowledge resources.

The project also aims to nurture creativity and critical thinking among children, helping them build confidence and aspire for a brighter future. Community members expressed hope that such initiatives would continue, contributing to long-term educational growth in the region.

The Indian Army has been actively involved in various outreach programs across border districts, focusing on education, healthcare, and youth engagement as part of its broader commitment to nation-building.
