Kashmir,November 22,2025-In a significant healthcare outreach initiative, the Indian Army organised a free Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Camp in Machil, bringing essential medical services to women living in one of Kashmir’s most remote and underserved areas.
The medical camp aimed to provide early detection, preventive care, and awareness about life-threatening diseases that often go undiagnosed due to limited access to specialised healthcare facilities in border regions.
Army doctors and medical staff conducted detailed screenings, shared guidance on symptoms and risk factors, and distributed informational material to help women understand the importance of timely check-ups. Local residents expressed gratitude, noting that such initiatives make a meaningful difference in communities where travelling long distances for medical care is often challenging.
Officials said the initiative is part of the Army’s continued efforts under Operation Sadbhavna, focused on improving healthcare access, strengthening community well-being, and fostering trust in remote villages of Jammu & Kashmir.
The screening camp is being widely appreciated as another compassionate step by the Indian Army, further strengthening its bond with the people of Machil.
