Amit Shah chairs high-level meeting in New Delhi to review Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra preparedness

Kashmir, June 12,2026-Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday chaired a high-level meeting in the national capital to assess the security and logistical preparedness for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.

The meeting was attended by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, the Union Home Secretary, Director of the Intelligence Bureau, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, and the Director Generals of the CRPF, BSF, CISF, ITBP and SSB, besides other senior officials.

During the meeting, a comprehensive review of security arrangements and coordination among various agencies was undertaken to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the annual pilgrimage. Officials discussed measures related to intelligence sharing, deployment of security personnel, traffic management, emergency response and the overall safety of pilgrims.

The Home Minister stressed the need for seamless coordination among all stakeholders and directed the agencies to maintain a high level of vigilance to provide a safe and hassle-free experience to devotees undertaking the sacred yatra.

The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra is one of the country’s most significant religious pilgrimages and attracts thousands of devotees from across India every year. Authorities have intensified preparations to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place ahead of the commencement of the pilgrimage.
