Qazigund, July 18 — In a rare and inspiring feat of devotion, Amit Kumar, a devout follower of Lord Shiva from Bihar, has undertaken the sacred Amarnath Yatra on roller skates, capturing the hearts of people across regions. The dedicated pilgrim has now reached Qazigund, a major gateway to the Kashmir Valley.
Determined to offer his prayers at the holy Amarnath Cave Shrine, Amit began his journey from Bihar weeks ago, skating through highways, towns, and challenging terrains with a single aim—to seek the blessings of Baba Barfani. His unique mode of pilgrimage has drawn admiration and support from fellow devotees and locals along the way.
Speaking to reporters at Qazigund, Amit said, “I wanted to express my devotion to Lord Shiva in a way that also inspires others. Skating is my passion, and I decided to combine it with my faith to make this Yatra even more meaningful.”
Security personnel and yatris applauded his unwavering commitment and physical endurance. Officials from the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) ensured he received proper assistance and medical checkups before proceeding toward Pahalgam, from where the uphill trek to the cave shrine begins.
As the Amarnath Yatra 2025 continues amid tight security and strong spiritual fervor, Amit Kumar’s journey stands out as a symbol of both devotion and determination—adding a unique chapter to this year’s pilgrimage stories.
