Jammu, August 6,2026- The Amarnath Yatra resumed on Thursday after a one-day suspension, with around 1,800 pilgrims departing from Jammu for the Baltal base camp under tight security arrangements.
The pilgrimage had been temporarily suspended due to adverse weather conditions and safety concerns. Following an improvement in the situation and clearance from the authorities, the annual yatra resumed, allowing devotees to continue their spiritual journey to the holy Amarnath Cave Shrine.
Officials said the fresh convoy of pilgrims left the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu in the early hours of the morning. Security personnel and civil administration have made elaborate arrangements to ensure the safe movement of pilgrims along the route.
Authorities continue to monitor weather conditions and the overall situation closely to ensure the safety of all pilgrims. Devotees have been advised to follow official advisories and cooperate with security agencies throughout the pilgrimage.
The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra is one of India’s most significant annual Hindu pilgrimages, attracting thousands of devotees from across the country every year. Pilgrims can reach the holy cave through the traditional Pahalgam route or the shorter Baltal route, depending on their registration and travel plans.
