Banihal, July 17,2026- The Jal Shakti (PHE) Department is ensuring uninterrupted drinking water supply and sanitation facilities for thousands of pilgrims staying at the Lamber Ground Lodgement Centre in Banihal, Ramban, as part of the extensive arrangements for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.
Dedicated teams of the department have been deployed to maintain a continuous supply of clean drinking water, oversee sanitation services, and ensure hygienic conditions across the transit accommodation facility. The department is working round the clock to cater to the needs of pilgrims and provide a safe and comfortable stay before they continue their journey to the holy cave shrine of Baba Barfani.
The Lamber Ground Lodgement Centre serves as one of the key transit points for pilgrims travelling towards the Kashmir Valley. Thousands of devotees halt at the facility, where essential civic amenities, including potable water, sanitation, accommodation, healthcare, and security, have been put in place through coordinated efforts of various government departments.
The uninterrupted water supply and sanitation arrangements by the Jal Shakti Department are part of the Jammu and Kashmir Administration’s comprehensive plan to ensure a smooth, hygienic, and hassle-free pilgrimage experience for devotees undertaking the annual yatra.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to maintaining high standards of public health and sanitation throughout the pilgrimage period, ensuring that every pilgrim has access to essential services during the sacred journey.
