Jammu, July 17,2026- The 16th batch of 4,640 pilgrims undertaking the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 departed from the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu on Friday for the twin base camps of Baltal in Ganderbal district and Nunwan-Pahalgam in Anantnag district under tight security arrangements.
The convoy, escorted by security personnel, left in the early hours amid elaborate security and logistical arrangements put in place by the Jammu and Kashmir Administration, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF, and other agencies to ensure the safe movement of pilgrims.
With the departure of the latest batch, the total number of pilgrims who have left Jammu for the holy cave shrine this year has reached 1,09,128, reflecting the overwhelming participation of devotees in this year’s annual pilgrimage to the abode of Baba Barfani.
Authorities have made comprehensive arrangements along both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes, including multi-layered security, RFID-based tracking, medical facilities, sanitation services, accommodation, food, and transportation to ensure a smooth and hassle-free pilgrimage experience.
The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra continues to witness a steady influx of devotees from across the country, with officials maintaining round-the-clock monitoring and coordinated efforts to facilitate the safe and successful conduct of one of India’s most revered spiritual pilgrimages.
