Srinagar, April 13, 2025: The annual Amarnath Yatra, one of the most revered Hindu pilgrimages, is set to commence on July 3, 2025, and will continue until August 19, 2025, as announced by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri. The 48-day pilgrimage to the Amarnath Cave Shrine, located at 3,880 meters in the Himalayas of south Kashmir, will see lakhs of devotees trekking through the scenic yet challenging routes of Pahalgam and Baltal.
The Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB), chaired by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, has finalised arrangements to ensure a safe and seamless experience for pilgrims. Key preparations include enhanced security measures, improved infrastructure, and robust logistics. Bidhuri emphasised coordination between security forces and civil departments to facilitate a smooth Yatra. “All necessary arrangements, including medical facilities, sanitation, and transport, are being prioritised,” he said.
The pilgrimage, starting simultaneously from the Pahalgam route in Anantnag and the Baltal route in Ganderbal, is expected to draw devotees from across India and beyond. The administration is also focusing on disaster management, mobile connectivity, and accommodation to handle the anticipated influx of pilgrims. Registration for the Yatra is likely to begin soon, with online and offline options expected to be available by mid-March or April.
The Amarnath Yatra 2025 holds immense spiritual significance, with devotees undertaking the arduous trek to pay obeisance to the naturally formed ice Shivling at the holy cave. Authorities are committed to ensuring a secure and spiritually fulfilling journey for all yatris.
