A New Dawn in Jammu & Kashmir: Justice, Security and Development Move Together I LG Manoj Sinha This sacred day reminds us of the enduring values enshrined in the Constitution on which our democracy is based. This festival is an occasion to reaffirm our commitment to democratic values, justice, liberty, equality and those bound by them. I also salute the brave soldiers of the armed forces, paramilitary forces and Jammu Kashmir Police who are ensuring the unity, integrity and security of the nation through their valour, sacrifice, dedication and sacrifice. Their unparalleled courage and service continue to inspire us to build a united, secure and prosperous India. I also express my gratitude today to all the Army, Police, Paramilitary and Civil Administration officials who brought honour to the country with their dedication and courage during Operation Sindoor. Operation Sindoor, following the barbaric Pahalgam attack, marks a watershed moment in India’s national security policy. This was not just a military operation but a declaration of India’s strategic resolve. Through Operation Sindoor, India sent a message to the entire world that now any act of terrorism and any attempt to encourage terrorism will be given a befitting reply. The tourism sector has special importance in the economy of Jammu and Kashmir. In 2020-2021. The tourism sector has special importance in the economy of Jammu and Kashmir. After giving it the status of industry, investment in this sector got special encouragement. Jammu and Kashmir, known as the heaven on earth, had received 1 crore tourists simultaneously till November 2025. Efforts are underway to develop the Kashmir Marathon as a major sports tourism and destination branding initiative. Efforts are being made to develop Kashmir Marathons as a major initiative of sports tourism and destination branding to present Kashmir as a global hub of sports and wellness tourism. The Chief Minister’s participation in the Kashmir Marathons has further strengthened the faith and commitment of Kashmir as a safe, open and vibrant destination. Dear brothers and sisters, our aim is to build an inclusive Jammu and Kashmir where youth, women and workers can get ample opportunities. And where the government continuously strives to ensure that even the most ordinary citizen of the society can acquire the ability and self-confidence to dream big and make them come true. Through the Mission Yuva program, the aspirations of the youth of the state are being empowered through skill development guidance and financial assistance. This initiative reflects the Government’s commitment to empower youth to become a vehicle for entrepreneurship, employment generation and social sustainability. A new dawn has also come in Jammu and Kashmir. The work of providing jobs to families not connected to terrorism but affected by terrorism has also started. The tears that had been suppressed for decades are now getting respect and justice. I assure the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir that justice will be done in every case and every case related to terrorism will be closed and will be investigated afresh. Through rail connectivity, the Government of India has realised the dream of connecting Kashmir with the greater India. Approval given for a full-fledged railway division in Jammu. The operation of the first Food Corporation of India (FCI) foodgrain freight train connecting Kashmir with the national freight network has also started. This will ensure uninterrupted output throughout the year. Costs will come down, pressure on N44 will ease and economic activities will also gain strength and momentum. There has been unprecedented progress in road infrastructure as well and I believe that due to the commitment of the Honourable Prime Minister, there has been unprecedented expansion in the infrastructure of Jammu and Kashmir. Expressways, National Highways, Ring Roads and Tunnels are being constructed and upgraded with a combined investment of Rs. 1,528 crore. Focused efforts in the power sector are yielding unprecedented results. Substantial reduction in losses and substantial increase in revenue through hydro power projects, smart meters and self-energy and distribution plants. Till now, under Jal Jeevan Mission, more than 15 lakh rural families have been provided water supply. Eight hundred and sixty-seven villages have also received Har Ghar Jal certification. In the last few years, the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme has given birth to a new revolution in agriculture and allied sectors.
