Kashmir launched a vigorous ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ Campaign ahead of Gandhi Jayanti. A major cleanliness and sanitation drive is going on in the whole of India to commemorate Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 with the theme ‘Swachhata Hi Seva” mission. The mission has been going on for several days in Kashmir. Cleanliness is important for everyone, said workers there. This is our everyday work. Our work starts at 7 am and we gather the garbage in the vehicle. We take our garbage from drains, lakes and water bodies. The J&K government is trying its best to have a clean city but people keep throwing wrappers and bottles everywhere. Juice bottles and Kurkure packets land up in water after consuming. A discipline action needs to be taken, said the people.
