Kulgam ,November 4,2026- The Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2027 was organised at Government Degree College (GDC), Kulgam, with the objective of encouraging youth participation in nation-building and providing young people with a platform to contribute their ideas, perspectives and aspirations towards building a developed India.

The programme brought the focus on the vital role of young leaders in shaping the country’s future, highlighting the importance of innovation, leadership, entrepreneurship, education and active participation in democratic and developmental processes.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam emphasised that the youth are among the most important stakeholders in India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation. He encouraged young people to actively participate in initiatives aimed at national development and make meaningful contributions to society through their knowledge, skills and innovative ideas.

The DC highlighted that the vision of Viksit Bharat cannot be achieved through government efforts alone and requires the active involvement of citizens, particularly the younger generation. He stressed that young people must take responsibility for bringing positive changes to their communities while contributing to the broader goals of national progress.

He also underlined the importance of developing leadership qualities, critical thinking, creativity and problem-solving abilities among students. According to him, the country’s young population has immense potential, which needs to be channelled towards productive activities, innovation and constructive engagement.

The dialogue provided an opportunity to highlight various avenues available to young people in education, skill development, entrepreneurship, technology, research and public service. Such platforms encourage students to identify opportunities, understand emerging challenges and explore ways to contribute to India’s social and economic transformation.

The emphasis was also laid on the need for young people to move beyond conventional career aspirations and explore emerging sectors that offer opportunities for innovation, employment generation and economic growth. Youth-led entrepreneurship and startups, in particular, can play a significant role in strengthening the local economy and creating employment opportunities.

The Viksit Bharat vision aims to build an inclusive, prosperous and self-reliant India by 2047. Achieving this ambitious goal requires sustained efforts across different sectors, including education, healthcare, infrastructure, technology, environmental sustainability and rural development. In this context, engaging young minds in policy discussions and developmental initiatives is considered essential for ensuring that their aspirations and concerns are reflected in the country’s growth journey.

Educational institutions such as Government Degree College Kulgam have an important role in preparing students for these responsibilities by promoting academic excellence, leadership, social awareness and community engagement. Initiatives like the Young Leaders Dialogue help bridge the gap between young citizens and developmental institutions while encouraging a sense of responsibility towards society and the nation.
