Kashmir Ahead

₹123.57 Crore Disbursed to Rajouri Farmers Under PM-KISAN Scheme

Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir, has received significant financial support for farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. According to available figures, a total of ₹123.57 crore has been distributed among farmers in the district from February 2019 to June 2026. Under the scheme, eligible farmers receive financial assistance of ₹6,000 annually in three instalments of ₹2,000 each. This support helps farmers meet essential agricultural expenses, including the purchase of seeds, fertilisers and other farming supplies. In the latest instalment, approximately ₹8.68 crore was transferred directly into the bank accounts of 47,144 beneficiaries in Rajouri district. The direct transfer system ensures that financial assistance reaches eligible farmers without unnecessary intermediaries. Farmers have expressed satisfaction with the scheme, stating that the financial support helps them manage their agricultural activities and reduce some of their financial difficulties. Chief Agriculture Officer Rajouri, Rajesh Verma, has urged eligible farmers to complete their electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC) formalities to continue receiving benefits under the scheme. The PM-KISAN initiative aims to provide income support to eligible farmer families across India. Its continued implementation in Rajouri is helping farmers meet farming expenses and supporting agricultural livelihoods in the district.
